When I was on Miami Beach I was on my favourite street, Lincoln Road. I had some extra time while waiting for my friend so I decided to walk into a gallery. It happened to be the studio of Romero Britto, that was my introduction to this artist.
The most masterful thing an artist can do is create something simple yet absolutely different. Romero Britto’s simple, colourful, and playful artistic style have been translated from canvas to toys, buildings, cars.
Looking at his work makes you feel like you are living in a cartoon reality. What I like is the style transplanted on content of serious matter such as the Mona Lisa Cat above, Darth Vader, and my favourite piece Pure Sugar featuring MacDonald with Mao Zedong.
