Yo guy, fashion fans. This is MoVernie! How’s it going yo? Did you enjoy my first ever fashion video blog with designer Meghan Erin? If you like what you are seeing, keep on following. This week, we are showcasing our second episode of our fashion video blog with designer/singer-songwriter, Jay Manara and along with his crew at the Ryerson Fashion Show.
During the show, Jay got to get up the stage to share his stories to his success as a designer/singer, sharing his experiences with other up and coming designers who are chasing their dreams and goals. It was a very inspirational and motivational speech. He placed emphasis on being creative, continue to believe and chasing the dreams but at the same time, being able and willing to listen to feedback and constructive criticism to get better with the work and be able to listen and improve on the collection. Being able to balance the financial budget while carrying the passion for designing clothes are key. Designing is an important element but also being able to run the business with profit and being able to bring food to the table are also important in a day-to-day operation.
During the show, Jay also showcased his collection. In his collection, you will see a heavy influence of tattoo art and rock music culture. The brand is owned, operated and run by people who have lived and breathed the tattoo and rock music lifestyle for many years. Rock Parlor believes in the individuality of people and design, and strives to deliver unique pieces that will make you want to rock (and I truly believe his collection is definitely make you rock!)

Overload! That is the only word that comes to mind when I viewed this picture of Mr. Chris Brown himself. There is just simply wayyyyyy too much going on in one ensemble! Chris is clearly trying to make some sort of fashion statement here, however I think he got lost and confused somewhere between the pastel blue shoes and the his multi colored hoodie. Lets calm this look down while still incorporating bold pieces to withhold Chris Browns trendy look. If we add in a basic tee, it gives us a lot of lead way for a busier sweater. If you are not a fashion expert, my advice would be avoid mixing patterns and too many colors. Stick with a basic and a then one pattern, they make quite the couple!
We will throw on our Juzd basic crewneck tee with Juzd’s signature fit and feel. It is a must have fitted black t-shirt that goes with basically everything in ones closet! It is the guys version of the “little black dress”….. everyone should own one! You can find this tee and many more at Juzd online shop. Now to keep Chris’s style in tack lets add a great Junk De Luxe patterned cardigan! This cardigan still makes a loud statement, but avoids any color clash.
I am enjoying his shorts on him, so those can stay. If we throw out that red belt, give him some black and grey Vans, his look will be one hundred percent better with minimal effort! We could add a Armani fedora in there, just to add that touch of class….but his own black hat works just fine as well. Oh, I think this goes without saying, but those socks should never have happened.
I must admit, there is something about Shia LaBeouf’s dirty, rugged, and vintage look that I just can’t get enough of. Most times, he does pull this image off quite successfully and the way the boy wears a fitted tee is impressive to say the least.
With saying that, something went terribly wrong when Shia decided to put this outfit together. Coutos to him for being bold enough to sport those purple pants!!! I actually kind of enjoy them on him , however that cardigan and that old Harley Davidson tee don’t mesh well together. It comes off as three totally different styles in one outfit. Rule of thumb ; try to stick to one overall style at a time, things get to messy if not! To many trends (+) to many creative ideas
always equals (=) fashion disaster.
Since Shia was confident enough to put on the purple skinnys, I think we can work around them when we match them up with a basic black crew neck Juzd tee. What guy doesn’t look great in a Basic crew neck? Better yet, what guy wouldn’t enjoy looking great in one of the most comfortable tees he will ever put on. All we really have to do now is throw away that powdered blue knit cardigan and swap it for a great asymmetrical urban outfitters black cardigan. Give the boy some high top, classic black and white converse and he is set to go.
Hi everyone, it’s definitely been awhile since we’ve updated our blog! No we have not abandoned it, we have just been crazy busy working on finalizing details for our official launch party in March and the designs for our Fall 08/09 collection. So here is the inside scoop on recent JUZD happenings…
After visiting tons of different venues all over Toronto we finally found a space that we fell in love with and feel is absolutely PERFECT for the unveiling of JUZD and our Spring 08 and Fall 08/09 collections.
We are extremely excited to announce that JUZD’s official launch party will be held at MARO on Wednesday March 19th, 2007 during the Toronto L’oreal Fashion Week. In addition to that, while we were in talks with Uniqlifestyle (which are the owners of Brant House, West, Maro, and Cheval) to sign the contract for the venue space in March, they had expressed tons of excitement and love for our shirts that we are now in talks with them to outfit their bartenders specifically in our JUZD tee’s.
We can’t wait for you guys to see our amazing collections for yourself! March may seem like a long time from now, but it’s really just around the corner. Get ready for an evening of fun and fabulous fashions.
