Christopher Bates to Present his Fall/Winter 2015 RTW Collection at TOM*FW

Christopher Bates, a Toronto-based designer known for his contemporary menswear designs, will be unveiling his F/W 2015 ready-to-wear menswear collection at Toronto Men’s Fashion Week, TOM* on Friday, February 27th at 9pm at 444 College Park.

Inspired by the fundamentals of proportion, geometry, architecture, anatomy and mobility from Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man, Bates’ Fall/Winter 2015 collection, titled Modular, will include rich fabrics such as lamb suede, custom printed cotton shirts and laser perforated demin with a wide range of pieces using quilted field, luxurious leather outerwear, trousers, blazers and shearling trimmed bomber jackets.  Accessories include Italian leather belts, silk ties, pocket squares and suspenders.  Complimenting Bates’ designs will be eyewear from Cutler & Gross Frames, footwear from Browns Shoes and hosiery from McGregor Socks.

Christoper Bates successfully launched his eponymous namesake menswear line in 2008 and has gained a lot of praise for his work.  He’s been featured as one of the top six menswear designers in Canada (Sharp Magazine 2009), being selected as the only menswear designer in the Mercedes-Benz StartUp Program (2012) and most recently, received the CAFA nomination for Canadian Menswear Designer of the Year (Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards 2015).

You can find Bates’ collection at Holt Renfrew, Gotstyle Menswear and online with Gilt Groupe.  However, we highly recommend attending his show.  For here to find out more about TOM*FW and tickets to Christopher Bates’ runway presentation.
